1. Who we are

You Don't Plan is operated by Mustang Five Studios, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In these terms, "we", "us", and "our" mean Mustang Five Studios, LLC. "You" means the person using the service.

By using youdontplan.com or the You Don't Plan app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use You Don't Plan. The service plans trips that may include bars, nightlife, and travel, and it is not designed or intended for children. If you are under 18, do not use the service.

3. What the service does

You Don't Plan takes a short description of a trip and builds a suggested itinerary, a set of group polls, and a shareable plan. It can look up venues, opening hours, weather, and travel dates from public sources, and it can link out to sites where you can book things yourself.

We are not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking service. We do not sell travel, take reservations, hold funds, or act as an agent for any venue, airline, hotel, or host. Every booking or purchase you make happens on a third party site under that party's own terms.

The group ledger and any dollar amounts in the app are a note-keeping convenience. We do not move money, settle balances, or verify what anyone actually paid.

4. Accuracy and your own judgment

Itineraries are generated automatically and are built from third party data that changes constantly. Opening hours, prices, availability, age policies, weather, distances, and whether a place still exists can all be wrong or out of date.

Confirm anything that matters directly with the venue before you rely on it. You are responsible for your own travel decisions, safety, reservations, transportation, and legal compliance, including alcohol and local laws.

5. Share links are public

When you create a share link, the trip is published to our server under a short random code so other people can open it. Treat that link like a public URL:

• Anyone who has the link can view the trip, join it, vote, and add or change details.
• There is no password, invite list, or per person login on a shared trip.
• Links can be forwarded by anyone you send them to.

Do not put anything in a trip that you would not want the whole group, or anyone they forward the link to, to read. That includes home addresses, confirmation numbers, ticket barcodes, and payment details.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use You Don't Plan to:

• break the law, or plan anything illegal;
• post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that targets a specific person;
• upload other people's personal information without their permission;
• scrape, resell, or systematically extract data from the service or the third party data it displays;
• attack, overload, probe, or reverse engineer the service, or try to reach trips you were not given a link to;
• impersonate someone else in a shared trip.

We may remove content or block access at any time, without notice, if we believe it breaks these rules or creates risk for us or for other users.

7. Affiliate and referral links

Some outbound links in You Don't Plan, including links to booking, lodging, dining, activity, and ticketing sites, may be affiliate or referral links. If you book through one of them, we may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra, and it does not change what the app recommends. Venue and itinerary suggestions are generated from your inputs and from public venue data, not from who pays us.

8. Beta status and changes

You Don't Plan is a free public beta. Features can change, break, or disappear. We may add paid plans later, but anything you are using for free today stays free for as long as it is offered on the free tier during the beta.

We may change these terms. If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page, and where practical we will note it in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

We may suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time.

9. Content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of the trip content you create. By creating a share link, you grant us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to store, copy, display, and transmit that content for the purpose of operating the service, including showing it to anyone who opens the link. If you submit a public review or testimonial, you also grant us permission to display it, in whole or in part, on the site.

The You Don't Plan name, logo, interface, copy, and code are owned by Mustang Five Studios, LLC. Third party data, photos, and map tiles remain the property of their respective owners and are used under the licenses listed in section 22.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non infringement, and any warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mustang Five Studios, LLC and its members, officers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, ruined plans, missed reservations, travel costs, or any loss arising from your use of the service or from reliance on information it displays.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars (USD 100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mustang Five Studios, LLC from any claim, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

14. Privacy Policy

This section explains what You Don't Plan collects, why, and who else sees it. It is part of these terms.

We built the app local first on purpose. There are no user accounts, no passwords, and no advertising trackers. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

15. What we collect

Stored in your browser only

Trips you create stay in your own browser's local storage until you create a share link. That includes the destination, dates, itinerary, budget notes, and ledger entries. We cannot read this. Clearing your browser data deletes it permanently, and we cannot recover it.

We also store a few small values in your browser: a display name you have used as host, a random voter identifier so your own votes can be recognized on a shared trip, a saved trip seed, and a flag for beta feature access.

Stored on our server when you share a trip

Anything a member types into a shared trip is visible to everyone else with the link. Display names and flight notes are the most common places people put real personal detail, so keep that in mind.

Sent to third parties to build your trip

• Your trip description is sent to OpenAI so it can be turned into a structured itinerary. We do not send your name or contact details with it. OpenAI does not use API content to train its models.
• Your destination and the kinds of places you want are sent to Google Places and to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to find venues, hours, and coordinates.
• Your destination coordinates and dates are sent to Open-Meteo for the forecast.
• If you use the "near me" option, your device asks for your location and sends the coordinates to OpenStreetMap to name the nearest city. We do not store your coordinates.
• Golf venue lookups are sent to OpenGolfAPI.

What we do not collect

We do not collect passwords, payment card numbers, government identifiers, contact lists, or precise location history. We do not run advertising pixels, cross site trackers, or social media trackers. We do not have a cookie banner because we do not set advertising cookies.

16. Why we process it

• To run the service: build itineraries, sync shared trips, tally votes, show the map and forecast.
• To keep it working: basic counts of how often trips are built, shared, and opened, so we can find what is broken. These counts are about the app, not about you as an individual.
• To show social proof: reviews you choose to submit may be displayed publicly.

If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis, ours is legitimate interest in operating and improving the service, and consent for anything you voluntarily submit such as a review or a location request.

17. Third party services

These providers process data on our behalf or receive data as part of normal operation. Each has its own privacy policy.

Your use of the mapping and venue features is also subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

18. Retention and deletion

• Unshared trips live only in your browser. Delete them in the app, or clear your browser data, and they are gone.
• Shared trips stay on our server so the link keeps working. During the beta we may remove shared trips that have had no activity for twelve months.
• Reviews are kept until you ask us to remove them.
• Usage counts are kept in aggregate.

To have a shared trip deleted from our server, email us the share code from section 23. We will delete it within thirty days. Anyone who already saved a copy of the link's contents will still have their copy, which we cannot reach.

19. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Texas, California, and several other states grant these rights, as does the GDPR in the UK and EU.

Because we have no accounts, the practical way to exercise these rights is to email us with the share code or the review you are asking about, so we can find the record. We will respond within forty five days. We do not sell or share personal information for cross context behavioral advertising.

If you are in the UK or EU and you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

20. Children

You Don't Plan is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information through a shared trip, email us and we will delete it.

21. Security

Shared trips are stored in a managed database and are written through restricted server side functions rather than direct table access. Traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Editing a published trip as its owner requires an owner token held only in the creator's browser.

That said, a share code is a public credential by design. Anyone with the link can read and edit the trip. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that data transmitted to us is safe from interception.
